About
In the wake of several game industry layoffs spanning 2023 and 2024, there was a push to highlight recognition of the tens of thousands of lives impacted and their contributions to a space that, for better and for worse, thrives on passion.
Code and creativity collide at the intersection of technology and entertainment, forming industry with over $180 billion dollars in global revenue in 2023. But past all the fancy three-letter-acronyms that are commonly thrown around in this field such as DAU (daily active users), CCU (concurrent users), and LTV (lifetime value), there's a lessor known one we want to showcase here, and that's HPP, or rather, Humans Per Pixel.
This project aims to dive deep with each highlighted individual whose efforts all play a part into making the games we know and love. Our interviews will cover their origins and their stories. Their highs and lows. Their proudest moments, and maybe their deepest regrets. It's a project dedicated to answering candid, sometimes controversial questions to really explore corridors often left hidden behind the glitz and glamor of the video games industry—within the bounds of any NDAs (Non-Disclosure Agreement) we've signed, of course.
